Hi! I'm Arran. I was born in 1994 in South London. I'm a twin - my brother, Fingal, was born 3 minutes after me. In this photo (just about the only proper snow we've ever had here in Abbotsbury), we're about 2 - that's me on the left. me and my brother with our Dad - we're about 2

I enjoy speaking to my friends on Facebook and in person (who doesn't!). I like playing about on Photoshop with photos I have taken. I got a drum kit last Christmas and can't seem to stop playing it. However, there is always a down side to everything: it's extremely loud and annoys my neighbours so I cant play it ALL the time. Every week my brother and go to a Drama group that we both really enjoy and have been going to for about 5 years now.

We have been home educated our whole lives apart from 2 terms at a local school in Weymouth, called Budmouth. I particularly liked seeing my friends every day (which is the disadvantage of being home educated), but during the time I was at Budmouth my Maths went downhill and I wasn't really learning a great deal over all, so me and my brother decided it would be best if we came out.

Another experience of school we had, was in 2006, 4 years before going to Budmouth. We were rung by someone in the BBC and my Mum told them that we'de never been to school, so she asked us if we'de like to go on a programme called Inside Out. So we were filmed going to school for a day, which me and my brother found very 'different' but also really interesting and fun. The film crew were all very nice, cool and friendly. They also filmed us where we live to see what our lifestyle was like.

I enjoy being home educated because you get a hell of a lot more freedom than you do at school. I know it's hard to believe, but you probably actually get more work done if you have, for instance, a tutor coming to your house than you would do in a normal lesson at school. This is mainly because there are 20 other children in the lesson rather than one or two, and as you can imagine there are kids messing around and talking etc while the teacher is trying to get your attention. well, that's my view on school anyway.

When me and brother were filmed for a day it made me want to do camera work or something to do with film as a career. Someone told us that Channel 4 were doing 'experience days' which we applied for and got places. We got to speek to people in different parts of the industry, which I found very helpful and encouraging. I'm very good at drawing (although I don't do drawing much any more though) and making things. You can look at some of my photographs and things I've made on this page.

A bit of history ... the front of our house just before I was one year old, my family moved to Abbotsbury in Dorset (southern England), where we still live. The photograph on the right shows the front of our house - it's about 250 years old - and the one on the far right is of us just after we moved here. We've got 3 cats Amber, Marble and mine - Rowan.

Dad built a treehouse for us, about 9 years ago, and he's put electricity in it, so that we can have a stereo and a light.   our treehouse We sometimes sleep there in the summer.

The sea is about 20 minutes walk away and we often go for a swim in the summer - the water's very clear, but the beach is steep, so it gets deep very quickly and you have to be careful in the water (particularly when it's rough).

My Dad (Andrew) is a website designer and my Mum (Mary-Clare) is a textile artist.

That's all for now - but keep an eye on this website - for lots more photos, drawings and everything about me - Arran Green!

Countries we've been to

The first country we ever went to was Morocco. That was a long long time ago when me and my brother were seven months old, I don't have much to say about it, because I can't remember much about it.

The second country we went to was Greece that was really nice with all the clear very waters, a thing that I remember I liked were stones that floated because they were volcanic rock.

One of the most amazing countries I've ever been to is probably India. I actually got to realise how amazing it is by going to it 5 times (the last time was in Spring this year), I don't really now why I like it so much I just do, and

A country we went to a few years ago is Thailand. It is a nice country with beaches with clear water (not as clear as Greece) and nice places to stay.

We went to Turkey in 2006. Some of the prices were more expensive than here in England but that wasn't too bad. The 2 things I liked most about Turkey were the capital, Istanbul ... and the food.

In 2008, we went to Egypt - it was really interesting seeing the pyramids (we went inside the Great Pyramid), tombs, the Suez Canal, the desert (we stayed at an oasis called Siwa) and loads of other stuff. The food was TERRIBLE though - worst food we've ever had anywhere in the world!

In 2009, we drove all the way to Italy, via Germany (where we stayed for one night) and Austria. We came back through France and stayed at a really cosy old hunting lodge in the middle of a forest.
